IDC Senior Instructor Hanna Coreson’s tenure with the Inspiration Dance Company began in 2007. After taking a five-year “sabbatical” from the IDC during her family’s relocation to Provo, Utah from 2012 to 2017, Hanna was welcomed back to the IDC with much enthusiasm in fall of 2017 and has been charming our youngest ballerinas, our senior pointe students and our littlest creative dancers with her upbeat spirit and passion for dance ever since. Excitement for learning abounds in all of Hanna’s classes!
A versatile instructor, during her many years with the IDC Hanna has taught all levels of Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Creative Dance and has even taught Boys Hip Hop as a substitute instructor. in 2019, Hanna devised and taught the IDC’s first ever Dance Choreography Class to fantastic results, with four dances from the class performed at the IDC’s 2019 End-Of-Summer Recital.
Hanna grew up studying ballet from an early age and in high school performed in a local junior company. She then attended the University of Utah earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Dance with an emphasis in teaching. For the past 12 years she has been sharing her love of dance with students of all ages, both at the IDC and at local studios in Provo and Salt Lake City, Utah.
Hanna loves the technical challenge of teaching Ballet and Modern. Her favorite thing about teaching is, by far, the students. Watching a dedicated student work hard, grow, and develop their talents and skills inspires her. This year Hanna will be teaching Beginning Ballet, Ballet I, Ballet II, and Ballet V/VI/Pointe.
