The IDC is thrilled to have Tushar Bhardwaj returning to the IDC faculty this season! Tushar’s dynamic and precise choreographic style for Hip Hop and Jazz will continue to challenge the advanced IDC students during the 2019-20 dance season. His advanced Hip Hop dancers brought down the house during their performance at the 2019 recital, and we can’t wait to see what they will do this year with Tushar again at the helm!
Tushar is from New Delhi, India where he trained extensively in Jazz, Hip Hop and Contemporary dance styles at The Danceworx Performing Arts Academy, becoming a lead company dancer and instructor in 2013. He has performed as principal dancer in choreography by Mourad Merzouki, the artistic director of Compagnié Kafig, also dancing internationally with the Wales Contemporary Dance Company, Australian Dance Theatre, Avant Garde and Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company. An accomplished Bollywood dancer and instructor, Tushar danced in over 150 performances of the Bollywood musical Jhumroo and worked as an assistant choreographer for Bollywood movies in 2015 and 2017. He joins Rainbow Dance Theatre for a second year as a principal dancer for its 2019-20 season.
